Saturday's Super Rugby Pacific showdown between the Blues and Crusaders could be the last time Leon MacDonald and Scott Robertson face off as coaches.
The pair will link up at the All Blacks next year, with Robertson taking the reins, and MacDonald joining his backroom staff.
But so far their head-to-head battles have been one-sided, with the Blues only winning one of their past 17 fixtures.
That triumph came in April last year, only for the Crusaders to avenge the defeat in the all-important final of the competition.
While MacDonald hopes it won't be the last time they square off before the season ends, he admits there is certainly plenty to play for on Saturday.
"Potentially last game, it would be nice to meet him again one more time somewhere," he said.
"Bragging rights? Yeah. I don't like losing to anyone, Razor is no different there and I know he's the same.
"No contact yet. [And] probably not afterward either, neither of us are great after a loss. But we respect each other obviously and move on pretty quickly."
Just one point separates last year's finalists, with the third-placed Blues holding a narrow one-point lead over the Crusaders.
With just four weeks left before the playoffs, the race is on to secure home advantage, with the Hurricanes trailing the Crusaders also by just a single point.
Add the second-placed Brumbies into the mix, and you have a four-way battle for the three prized positions for home advantage in the quarter-finals.
MacDonald admits there is no better time to get one back over their rivals, with a playoff run through Eden Park at the forefront of their minds.
"We feel like we are there or thereabouts, and we proved that last year," he said. "Consistency is important for us.
"We've played some good games and had some good moments, but we've not stacked it up. The challenge against the Crusaders is 80 minutes, and we didn't get that right in round four.
"But we've got confidence, and we're going down there to win - we feel like we're good enough. This is our opportunity right now.
"We want to be playing at home, as does everybody else. This game has a lot [riding] on it, more than just confidence.
"It's about where we finish on the table, and also building that belief going into the playoffs as well."
