The New Zealand Breakers have granted power forward Tom Vodanovich an early release from his contract with the Australian NBL club.
Vodanovich, 28, will take his talents to the Philippines, after a sensational one-off game for FiberXers has seen him offered a lucrative opportunity with the team.
"I am grateful to Mody [Maor] that the door remains open for me to return," he said.
"The experience of playing for the Breakers in the Championship Series last season, against the team I won a championship with the year before, will stay with me forever.
"I will always be a Breakers fan, and I look forward to following the team's progress in the upcoming season."
Vodanovich amassed 124 NBL games, including 33 for the Breakers last season, where he played a pivotal role from the bench.
His playoff-sealing performance against the Brisbane Bullets in February was a particular highlight.
It's not the first time Vodanovich has left the Breakers, having also played for the Sydney Kings, where he won a championship in 2022.
Breakers coach Maor is hopeful of bringing Vodanovich back for a third stint with the Auckland-based club.
"Tom has been a valued member of the Breakers since returning last season, but we understand this is an opportunity too good for him to ignore," he said.
"Everyone at the club wishes him the best, and we hope to bring him back here in the future."
