As his team were getting beaten up by Denver Nuggets in their NBA Final series, the Miami Heat mascot was rushed to hospital, after his brush with UFC superstar Conor McGregor.
McGregor was at the Heat's Kaseya Centre for Game Four of the best-of-seven series, hoping to promote his pain relief brand, but his choreographed dust-up with mascot Burnie went a little too far.
The Irishman decked the costumed character and gave him a double tap, as he lay midcourt, before he was dragged off, with McGregor spraying him with his product.
The Athletics reports Burnie was taken to the emergency room of a nearby hospital, where he was given more pain medication and sent home. He is reportedly doing well.
"Found his level," one Twitter user posted of McGregor's performance.
McGregor last fought in July 2021, when he lost to Dustin Poirer, breaking his leg in the process, but is apparently scheduled to face Michael Chandler later this year.
