The All Whites have fallen to a comprehensive 4-1 defeat to Sweden, after conceding three goals inside six minutes in an international football friendly at Solna.
New Zealand struck first through forward Callum McCowatt, but defensive lapses right before halftime proved their undoing.
Swedish star Jesper Karlsson scored a six-minute double to stun the visitors, after they had made an encouraging start.
Just seven minutes into the fixture, All Whites midfielder Matthew Garbett found McCowatt with a delightful through ball up the middle.
McCowatt played the first touch perfectly, before slotting home the game's opener in the bottom-hand right corner, but that was as good as it got for the Kiwis, as the 22nd-ranked Swedes responded with four goals of their own.
New Zealand were guilty of loose play, with Elijah Just gifting possession to the grateful hosts and an unmarked Karlsson finding the bottom left corner.
Just five minutes later, Sweden were in again, with Robin Qualson making the All Whites pay for affording him too much space outside the box with a long-range shot to beat goalkeeper Oli Sail.
Sweden capped off a stunning turnaround with another goal right before halftime, when Karlsson again capitalised on loose All Whites possession to score off the right post.
The break would halt Sweden's charge, but New Zealand were unable to find the back of the net, with the hosts leaving it until added time to find another.
Manchester United winger Anthony Elanga showed electric pace to beat Bill Tuiloma, before executing a brilliant finish to wrap up a huge win for Sweden.
New Zealand next face Qatar on Tuesday (NZ time) at Vienna.
