Halfway leader Daniel Hillier has dropped to a share of third, with one round remaining at the BMW International Open at Munich.
The Kiwi golfer enjoyed a one-shot lead after two rounds of the DP World Tour event at Golfclub München Eichenried, but watched his composure unravel over the back nine, as his advantage disintegrated.
Hillier, 24, seemed well placed halfway through his third round, carding a three-under-par 33 through nine holes, but dropped a shot on the par-five 11th and two on the par-four 13th, before clawing one back at the 14th.
His one-under 71 put him four shots behind Dutch leader Joost Luiten and one behind second-placed Dutchman Daan Huizing.
Hillier has two victories on the European second-tier Challenge Tour and has contested two Majors, missing cuts at the 2019 US Open and 2021 British Open Championship.
He tees off for his final round with Japanese Rikuya Hoshino at 1:25am (NZ time).
Meanwhile, Kiwi Lydia Ko is struggling 13 strokes behind Irish leader Leona Maguire at the Women's PGA Championship in New Jersey, after carding a one-over-par 72 - her best of the event - in the third round.
Beginning with a double-bogey six on the opening hole, she sprinkled four birdies among three bogeys to sit tied for 61st at six over.
