Golf: Kiwi Lydia Ko slumps to three-over-par opening round at Women's PGA Championship

Kiwi Lydia Ko has plenty of work ahead of her, if she hopes to break a seven-year LPGA Major drought at the Women's PGA Championship.

The world No.3 has brought unconvincing form into the tournament at Baltusrol in Springfield, New Jersey and continued that slump with a three-over-par 74 over an opening round that featured five bogeys and two birdies.

Her score leaves her eight shots behind leader Lee-Anne Pace of South Africa, who holds a one-stroke advantage over Canadian Brooke Henderson, and Chinese pair Xiyu Lin and Ruoning Yin.
