Kiwi Ryan Fox has fallen down the leaderboard at the US Open, leaving the course in a 17-way tie for 49th, after his second round at the Los Angeles Country Club.
After finishing the opening day tied for 14th with a two-under display, Fox carded six bogeys to shoot a four-over 74 second round, falling 37 places to sit on the cutline at two over.
Starting his second round on the back nine, Fox, 35, made par on his first two holes, before consecutive bogeys dropped him to two over.
A birdie on the 14th gave the Kiwi hope of clawing his way back, only to drop another shot on the 17th to be two over at the halfway stage.
Two more bogeys to start the front nine dropped Fox even further back at four-over, before another birdie on the fifth gave the Kiwi breathing room.
The Kiwi made one last bogey on the ninth hole, dropping him to two over for the tournament, poised precariously on the cut-line.
Fox's efforts should see him reach the third round, while American stars Jordan Spieth and Phil Mickelson will not. Among those tied with Fox are former champion and US Masters winner Jon Rahm, and two-time British Open champion Padraig Harrington.
After sharing the lead on the opening day, American Rickie Fowler has extended his advantage with a two-under second round, taking him to 10 under for the tournament, one shot clear of compatriot Wyndham Clark.
World No.3 Rory McIlroy sits third at eight under, after carding a three-under second round - hunting his first Major win since the 2014 PGA Championship.
