Roger Tuivasa-Sheck will need to switch positions if he's to start regularly for NZ Warriors next season.
The 2018 Dally M medallist will complete his second code switch once his New Zealand Rugby contract ends in December.
But on Tuesday, coach Andrew Webster confirmed his current fullback will start 2024 as the No.1.
When Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad runs out against his former team on Friday, it'll be where his career really kicked off.
After four years in Canberra, the fullback's been impressive since returning to the Warriors this NRL season, already running 223 times for more than 2000 metres.
And Webster believes he's the 'Mr Reliable' of the team.
"He's just himself," he said. "He knows what his game is, he's not trying to be something he's not."
And it's a job Webster sees him filling long-term, despite the impending return of Roger Tuivasa-Sheck.
"He'll be our No.1," Webster continued. "They're both obviously going to be in there.
"If they're both there in positions where they can both comfortably play at a high level, then we're starting to build an elite side."
One which will this week welcome a debutant.
Ali Leiataua's been given the nod at centre with Rocco Berry out due to head knock protocols.
But for Nicoll-Klokstad, it's not about proving a point against his old side.
"It's no more comms with them from here on, just for the week," he joked. "Playing your mates is a little weird, I won't lie.
"But it is a great opportunity to play against your mates as well. This game's given me great friendships and it's a good opportunity to get one over them I guess."
And another chance to show just why he'll be keeping the custodianship.
