NZ Kiwis five-eighth Dylan Brown has been stood down by the NRL after being charged with 'sexual touching' for an incident in Sydney last weekend.

Brown, 22, appeared in court on Wednesday after he was charged with five counts for the incident in a Sydney bar.

And amid an investigation by the NRL, Brown has been stood down as part of the NRL's no-fault stand-down policy, his club Parramatta Eels confirmed.

The Parramatta Eels half was at the Golden Sheaf in Double Bay on Saturday when a 20-year-old woman told staff that she had been groped.

As a result, Brown will be ineligible for selection until he is cleared by the NRL.

As the Eels face Canterbury Bulldogs on Monday night, Brown was named to wear the No.6 jersey.

However, he will now be withdrawn from Parramatta's round 15 clash.
