NRL: NZ Warriors forward Mitch Barnett returns for soldout home clash against South Sydney Rabbitohs

NZ Warriors second-rower Mitch Barnett has been named to return to the line-up for their pivotal home clash with South Sydney Rabbitohs on Friday.

After serving a one-game band for a high tackle, Barnett's inclusion is the only change to the projected gameday squad, with forward Marata Niukore beginning a three-game suspension for his high tackle against St George Dragons last week.

Josh Curran moves into the starting line-up for Niukore, with Barnett on the interchange bench.

Otherwise, coach Andrew Webster has kept faith with a team riding a three-game winning streak.

Luke Metcalfe retains his five-eighth spot outside kingpin Shaun Johnson, with Rocco Berry consolidating his grip on a centre role, alongside Adam Pompey.

The Warriors sit fifth on the NRL table with nine wins from 15 games, two points behind leaders Penrith Panthers and two clear of the eight-placed Rabbitohs, who have won nine from 16.

Souths are still without injured superstar Latrell Mitchell at fullback, but have retained most of the side overwhelmed 31-6 by North Queensland Cowboys last weekend.

Michael Chee Kam replaces suspended Jacob Host in the second row, while Shaquai Mitchell and Tom Burgess are added to the interchange.
