Any tension between hookers Dane Coles and Codie Taylor is water under the bridge, as the All Blacks squad began training at Auckland.
This month, as the Hurricanes hosted the Crusaders in the final regular season round of Super Rugby Pacific, the two longtime teammates tangled in a heated clash that saw Taylor eventually shown a yellow card.
At the centre of it all was Coles, whose onfield gamesmanship has claimed more than one victim during his long career.
As Taylor left the field, Coles was even seen pointing to his temple, gesturing 'I'm in your head' to his counterpart.
After fulltime, Crusaders coach Scott Robertson conceded his side knew exactly what to expect from Coles, but it amounted to little, once the veteran antagonist got stuck in.
Speaking after the first full All Blacks training session of the year, Coles, 36, has made it clear there's no lingering animosity between the pair.
"Nah, I've got my own room," Coles quipped. "Me and Codes had a hug, we're all good.
"We're good mates, so we make sure we leave it on the field, but I'll watch out - he might get me in training."
The 36-man Rugby Championship squad features five new players, with Hurricanes halfback Cam Roigard, Crusaders pair Tamaiti Williams and Dallas McLeod, and Chiefs duo Samipeni Finau and Emoni Narawa all receiving maiden call-ups.
As one of the most senior players in the All Blacks, after more than a decade in the black jersey, Coles insists the rookies have been welcomed with open arms.
"They've been good, Cam's a bit of a 'deer in the headlights' at the moment, but it's important we get around them and have a yarn," he joked of his Hurricanes teammate.
"They all seem [walking] on eggshells at the moment, which is fair enough. They seem like good kids.
"You can see the way they carry themselves. They're checking their phones for the meetings, they don't want to be late and stuff like that.
"It's a cool feeling, but you're on edge. You want to be part of it, want to get stuck in.
"We'll just pull them back a little bit and get around them."
One newcomer has been more withdrawn than the others, after lengthy celebrations to commemorate the Crusaders' Super Rugby title last weekend.
"Tamaiti can't talk," Coles joked. "[He's had] a couple of days on the bender to get his voice back.
"He's pretty quiet at the moment, so that's good."
