Centuries by Amelia Kerr and captain Sophie Devine have guided the White Ferns to an ODI series-levelling win against Sri Lanka in Galle.
Just three days on from their historic defeat in the series opener, New Zealand fought back with an emphatic 116-run victory.
Kerr (108), and Devine (137) put on a mammoth 229-run partnership to set the hosts 330 to win - a target they never looked close to chasing down.
After losing openers Suzie Bates (1), and Bernadine Bezuidenhout (25) inside the first powerplay, Kerr and Devine were tasked with leading their team's revival.
The Sri Lankan bowlers had no answer to the pair's aggressive charge, with Devine finding the boundary rope on 19 occasions.
Both batted deep into the White Ferns' innings, with the duo occupying the crease together for the next 33 overs.
After Kerr and Devine finally departed in subsequent overs, the White Ferns' lower-order kept the score ticking to reach an imposing 329/7.
Sri Lanka's chase never got off the ground, with White Ferns veteran pace bowler Lea Tahuhu picking up three wickets inside eight overs.
Middle-order batter Kavisha Dihari offered the only resistance, until her valiant stand ended for 84 runs after Eden Carson found the edge.
Tahuhu finished as New Zealand's best with 4/31, but wickets were evenly shared, with six bowlers picking up a dismissal to bowl the hosts out for 213.
The series decider will be played on Monday, before the teams turn their attention to the T20 series.
New Zealand 329/7 (Devine 137, Kerr 108; Ranasinghe 3/68) Sri Lanka 213 (Dihari 84, Kavindi 15; Tahuhu 4/31, Carson 2/41).
