NZ Football is confident Saturday night's fire at Auckland's Pullman Hotel was not targeted at the Football Ferns.
A 34-year-old man has been arrested and charged with counts of burglary and arson, after Saturday's blaze, which saw an evacuation of the Pullman Hotel, where the NZ women are based for the Women's Football World Cup.
The man will appear in Auckland District Court on Monday.
All players, coaches and support staff are confirmed safe, and accounted for, with NZ Football adding there have been no "ill effects" from the ordeal.
"NZ Football welcome the news that a man has been arrested following a suspicious fire at the Pullman Hotel, the Football Ferns team hotel for the FIFA Women's World Cup," a spokesperson said. "The fire does not appear to have been targeted at the team, FIFA or the FIFA Women's World Cup in general."
The Football Ferns are now in preparation for their second World Cup group stage match and will face the Philippines on Tuesday at Wellington.
New Zealand opened the tournament with an upset 1-0 victory over Norway at Eden Park - the first win by a Kiwi side at a senior World Cup.
Another victory against either Philippines or Switzerland would all but assure another first for the Football Ferns, with progression to the knockout stage.
