Live updates: Pacific Four - Black Ferns v Canada at Ottawa's TD Place Stadium

BLACK FERNS 52  CANADA 21

FULLTIME

80min - Canada knock on from their own kickoff and that's time up! What a performance in the second half from the Black Ferns against a brave Canadian outfit.

78min - BLACK FERNS TRY - TENETI

Black Ferns win their own scrum just five metres out, they shift it left and Teneti has the easiest of strolls to score a try on her debut.

76min - NZ showing no signs of letting up, as their defence pressures Canada into giving them the ball back. NZ are awarded the penalty just a metre out, with de Goede sent to the bin.

74min - BLACK FERNS TRY - DU PLESSIS

Du Plessis won't be denied this time! The centre attacks the pass and rolls over for the try after sustained pressure by the Black Ferns. A much better second half this from NZ.

72min - Du Plessis reads the Canadian attack perfectly, plucking the offload and sprinting away! She's dragged down just short of the tryline, before a knock on in support ends the attack.

70min - NZ inside the Canadian 22m, trying to power their way through up the middle, but a breakdown penalty provides some relief for the hosts, and they can clear.

68min - Paul proving a real menace on attack, slicing through the Canadian defence, but NZ knock on as they looked to switched the ball back in-field.

66min - Jenkins reads the Canadian attack like a book and picks off the intercept! She looks for support, but the Black Ferns knock on just inside the hosts' half.

64min - Black Ferns now playing with real confidence, forcing their way up the middle of the Canadian defence, but Bremner knocks on in her attempted quick pick up.

62min - BLACK FERNS TRY - HOLMES

Holmes has her first! Brunt breaks away, before linking up with du Plessis...she spots teammates to her left, but the ball is batted back by a Canadian, and Holmes pounces on the loose pill for the five-pointer.

60min - Hohaia makes a clean break! She's stepping, and weaving, but her pass to a support runner is intercepted by a Canadian player tracking back well.

58min - BLACK FERNS TRY - PAUL

Paul has her second! NZ shift it wide, putting it through the hands expertly to draw in the Canadian defence, before Holmes puts the winger over for the easiest of put downs.

56min - Brunt does well to strip the ball away from the hard-charging Canadian fullback but NZ knock on just a play later to give the hosts the scrum near their own 10m.

54min - CANADA TRY - DEMERCHANT

NZ put a big shove on at the scrum but it somehow squirts out Canada's way. They're just a metre out from the tryline, and they crash over! It's DeMerchant with the score.

52min - Canada overthrow at the lineout but come down with the ball. They're inside the Black Ferns 22m but a little knock on near the breakdown ends the attack.

50min - Demant tries a cheeky chip over the top near her own 22m, but Canada do well to track back and win back possession, and are awarded the penalty .

48min - Demant wrecking havoc, and slices the Canadian defence to bits up the middle. She links up with Holmes, but the fullback's attempted long pass to Paul only finds the sideline.

46min - BLACK FERNS TRY - DU PLESSIS

Marino-Tauhinu links up well with Love, before spotting space up the middle and sending du Plessis over for a well-deserved try. Black Ferns stretch their lead!

44min - Du Plessis rushes the Canadian defence and stops an overlap from breaking out. NZ pushing the hosts back, but they're retaining possesion well.

42min - Canada look to drive another maul from the lineout win. They're making solid metres, before breaking away but a poor decision to not pass to an unmarked winger proves costly.

HALFTIME

40min - Black Ferns spill the ball around halfway as the hooter sounds. Canada determined to play however, and shift it wide. They switch left but the cutout pass can only find touch.

38min - CANADA TRY - FORTEZA

Canada looking to maul their way towards the tryline and are making good metres. They break free from the drive and Forteza sprints away for the try! Comeback is certainly on.

36min - Brunt chases well and makes a solid tackle on the Canadian lock. Canada playing with a lot more confidence in possession, and NZ are penalised for a high tackle.

34min - CANADA TRY - DE GOEDE

Canada with perhaps their best chance so far in the test. Black Ferns are penalised, de Goede takes the quick tap and powers her way over for the try! That was some collision.

32min - Both sides guilty of impatience and forcing the ball, with errors mounting. Paul is penalised for a high tackle as she looked to rush the ball-carrier in midfield.

30min - Demant fires a quick pass to du Plessis, but the centre can't hang on in the tackle, and Canada almost break away down the right wing from the turnover.

28min - Canada doing well to force NZ back, before getting over the ball again and winning another breakdown penalty. They'll have the lineout just outside the NZ 22m.

26min - Du Plessis looks to get on the outside but is cutdown in a good tackle, before Canada swarm the ball and win the ruck penalty. Canadian fans enjoyed that play.

24min - NZ content to keep it tight, as the phases continue to climb, and eventually are awarded with a breakdown penalty. It's right in front, and the Black Ferns ask for the scrum.

22min - Another Black Ferns lineout, another Canada steal, but Bremner is on hand to win it back almost straight away as NZ march their way into the opposition 22m.

20min - BLACK FERNS TRY - PAUL

Du Plessis breaks out! She manages to find her outside runner as she tumbles to the turf, before Paul gets the ball and it's an easy run in for another Black Ferns try.

18min - NZ playing with the advantage for a high tackle. Referee calls them back for the penalty, with a bit of a push and shove to follow. Demant finds touch for the lineout.

16min - BLACK FERNS TRY - DEMANT

NZ piling on the pressure, peppering the Canadian defence. They're just a few metres out, Demant gets the ball, puts the fend on and strolls over for the try!

14min - Canada do well to contest NZ's throw and steal the lineout. Canada can clear and do well through the boot for another Black Ferns lineout, and this time, they win their own ball.

12min - Canada clear the ball from their own scrum and kick down field. NZ look to counter through Bremner, who makes good metres in contact before winning the penalty.

10min - Bremner wins the lineout and Black Ferns look to drive their maul, and win the penalty with Canada penalised for incorrect entry. Holmes lines up the shot but misses right.

8min - Brunt looks to free up her hands as NZ attack the Canadian defence, but can't link up with the support runner and knocks on for a Canada scrum around halfway.

6min - Forteza makes the break and she's away! She beats one but can't beat the last defender and is held up JUST short of the tryline - amazing last-ditched defence by NZ.

4min - Black Ferns knock on from the following kickoff, gifting Canada a scrum just outside the NZ 22m. Canada take the quick-tap from the free-kick win and look to launch.

2min - BLACK FERNS TRY - BREMNER

Vahaakolo makes a break almost straight from kickoff, and is tackled just a couple of metres out. Bremner spots space behind the defence, picks the ball up and crashes over for the try!

10:57am - Anthems all done and dusted! NZ to perform the haka now.

10:50am - Thank you for joining us this morning! Both teams have made their way out for their respective anthems, we're not far away from kickoff.
