Shane van Gisbergen will return to NASCAR on August 14 (NZ time), confirmed for his second appearance at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the Verizon 200.
Van Gisbergen, 34, took NASCAR by storm earlier this month when he claimed the chequered flag at the inaugural race in Chicago.
But while Chicago's win came on a street course, Indianapolis will see the Kiwi compete on an oval track, with 82 laps over 200 miles.
And after returning to Australia's Supercars series commitments, van Gisbergen will suit up for Trackhouse Racing in the NASCAR Cup series next month.
"I never dreamed this could have all rolled out this way," said van Gisbergen.
"Just getting to race in NASCAR is an opportunity I never thought I would get, but then to win and get another chance this year is beyond anything I imagined.
"Everyone in NASCAR welcomed me to Chicago and it's been awesome to see how big the reception from that race has been around the world. I am honored to be part of it."
That excitement goes both ways, with Trackhouse Racing founder and owner Justin Marks looking forward to reuniting with the Kiwi.
"Shane showed he is a world-class talent and what he did in Chicago was truly remarkable," he said.
"I don't think I am being overly dramatic when I say the entire motorsports world will be watching the No. 91 Chevrolet at Indianapolis."
At present, van Gisbergen sits fourth on this year's Supercars standings, 72 points off leader Will Brown of Erebus Racing.
