Silver Ferns star Grace Nweke will miss their Netball World Cup clash against Wales on Monday, but only as a precaution.
Nweke limped off with an apparent knee injury in the third quarter of New Zealand's 80-19 victory over Singapore on Sunday.
NZ Netball has since confirmed she will sit out the fixture against the Welsh, but only as a preventive measure, suggesting her injury isn't as bad as first feared.
The 21-year-old shooter has so far impressed at her first Netball World Cup, scoring 31 from 31 attempts against Trinidad and Tobago, and 15 from 16 against Uganda.
Her absence in the later stages of the match against Singapore were evident, but served as an opportunity to test New Zealand's depth in attack.
"That's what we're working towards, having different combinations that we can rely on, and those combinations that can do the job," Silver Ferns coach Dame Noeline Taurua said.
"It's probably a bit of the mindset, we were prepared to go in there, so it just took us a bit of time to get in, but the areas we try to improve on is that we're more fluid.
"There's still a bit of work to do in regard to combinations when changes do occur."
But despite the mammoth victory, and their third straight win at the World Cup, Dame Noeline wasn't satisfied with her side's intensity.
She admits she doesn't know why her team struggled to play with her desired passion, and will look for answers from them.
"I'm unsure what the reason is, and that's probably something I know the players will pull out of themselves," Dame Noeline said.
"I thought defensively we got some good ball, but probably feeling the vibe down there, I think they're very clear of where they are and the work they need to do.
"We'll go back, and we'll have a look at ourselves, and I'll be interested to hear what everyone else thinks about that game."
