All Blacks captain Sam Cane is available to play South Africa on Saturday, after escaping punishment from SANZAAR for kicking a pitch invader.
Newshub understands no "formal action" will be taken against Cane by the rugby body, with sources indicating he will be available for selection for the test at Mt Smart Stadium.
Cane was captured on video tripping a pitch invader, after New Zealand's 41-12 win over Argentina in their Rugby Championship opener at Mendoza.
He immediately apologised for the incident on Instagram and attempted to make amends.
"Tonight, after the game, someone ran onto the pitch and I made an error in judgment and played a part in stopping him," he said. "I acknowledge this was not my role and it is out of character of me to act in such a way."
The incident caused a stir in the rugby world, leaving social media divided over whether Cane was in the wrong, with many defending the All Blacks captain's actions.
Veteran commentator Tony Johnson, who has witnessed Cane's entire career with the Chiefs and All Blacks, says it came completely out of the blue.
"What was he thinking?" Johnson told AM."It's a bit hard to get the head around this.
"It's just so totally out of character for Sam Cane - a player within the game held in the highest regard.
"There's no way around it, what he's done here is not a good thing. It's certainly not a good look for any sportsperson, let alone the All Black captain.
"I suppose the thing he'll be regretting, amongst others, is it's threatening to take away from what was a really good performance by the All Blacks.
"It's also going to provide a distraction in the lead-up to what's going to be a cracking test match against the Springboks this weekend."
