Fear not, NZ Warriors fans, Jazz Tevaga's NRL season is far from over, says coach Andrew Webster.
Fan favourite Tevaga was scratched from Friday's victory over Manly Sea Eagles, after suffering a hamstring injury in the lead-up to the round 25 clash.
So far this season, he has been limited to just eight appearances, after a calf injury sustained in the Anzac Day defeat to Melbourne Storm.
The forward returned in round 23, playing 21 minutes in the 28-18 victory over Gold Coast Titans, and got through another 22 minutes in the round 24 win over Wests Tigers at Hamilton.
Any ongoing injury woes will undoubtedly frustrate Tevaga, 27, who is using his onfield statistics this year as a fundraiser for friend and former Warriors junior Roman Tuhimata, who is battling a rare form of cancer.
While still uncertain over how serious Tevaga's hamstring issue is, Webster is confident the interchange forward will return to the field for the end of the season.
"Scans will tell us more," Webster said. "We don't think the season's over or anything, we think it's positive news.
"He won't play next week, that's for sure. We didn't know what it was, we knew it was [his] hamstring, but we didn't know how bad it was.
"Once we get through the next couple of days, we'll know more."
Already assured of a top-eight spot and place in the NRL playoffs for the first time since 2018, Friday's win makes for even better reading for Warriors fans.
With a home clash against St George Dragons and an away trip to the Dolphins over the last two weeks of the regular season, one more victory would guarantee the Warriors a top-four finish and at least two games in the NRL post-season - one at home.
