Video footage has emerged of Kiwi long distance runner Zane Robertson's arrest as he was taken into custody by police in Kenya.
Disgraced runner Robertson, 33, was taken into custody after a sexual assault complaint, before police officers found an unlicensed AK-47 rifle in his home.
According to Kenya's Standard newspaper, the sexual assault against the Kiwi runner stemmed from a party.
Robertson has lived in Kenya since he was a teenager, as he and twin brother Jake moved to Africa for better training in their respective careers as long-distance runners.
Earlier this year, Robertson was handed an eight-year ban for doping after he returned a positive sample for Erythropoietin (EPO) from a test conducted in May of 2022.
Robertson also submitted fraudulent documents in the defence of the doping charge, which extended the initial ban from four years to eight.
In 2014, Robertson won bronze in the 5000m at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games.
