Ryan Fox has clawed his way back from an early triple bogey to win the BMW PGA Championship by one shot at Surrey.
Victory is Fox's first of 2023, with his last success coming at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship last October.
The Kiwi hit eight birdies in his round to finish with a 67 and 18-under for the tournament.
Local hopes Aaron Rai and Tyrell Hatton finished second to Fox, both carding 17-under.
Starting the day three shots off the pace, Fox's final round looked to be tracking downwards, when he made a triple bogey on the par-four third hole.
From there, Fox didn't drop a shot to not just surge into contention, but the outright lead.
Birdies on the sixth and eighth saw Fox complete his front nine at one-over, before he clawed his way back on the back nine.
A run of five birdies in six holes from the 10th to the 15th saw him get closer, before a birdie on the 18th saw him do enough to claim the outright lead.
"I played great," Fox said. "Pretty much didn't miss a shot from the third hole onwards and saw a couple of putts go in, and it was pretty cool feeling on the last to know I had one to win and actually make it.
"I certainly didn't think I'd be talking to you after the third hole. I don't know what to think at the moment.
"I've always struggled around here. To have a back nine like that, especially with how I started the day, it's amazing.
To make the result sweeter, Fox will pocket $2.6 million in prize money for the victory, comfortably the most lucrative of his career so far.
