UFC star Israel Adesanya has apologised, after reportedly pleading guilty to drink-driving.
Adesanya, 34, has admitted to being pulled over earlier this year and giving a blood alcohol level of 87 milligrams per 100 millilitres of blood.
"I want to apologise to the community, my family and my team for the decision I made to get behind the wheel after drinking at a dinner," he said in a statement to Newshub.
"I am disappointed with my decision to drive, it was wrong. I know that people might follow me and I want them to know I do not think this behaviour is acceptable."
NZ Herald reports the former world champion will be sentenced on January 10, after pleading guilty.
Earlier this month, Adesanya was stunned by American Sean Strickland at UFC 293 and lost his UFC middleweight title for a second time.
