Brisbane Broncos superstar Reece Walsh has made a young fan's year by gifting him his jersey after training.
The squad were rounding out their preparations at their Red Hill training facility, as they get ready to square off with the Warriors in the preliminary final on Saturday.
The winners advance to face either Penrith Panthers or Melbourne Storm in the NRL Grand Final at Sydney the following weekend.
One of the NRL's most exciting young talents, Walsh took time for a chat with starstruck six-year-old Patrick, assuring him he'd do his best to "get a result tomorrow" against his former Warriors side.
After a fist bump, the Queensland State of Origin representative ripped off his training jersey and handed it over to his admirer, shaking the hand of his supporter's grateful dad, as he departed.
Patrick regularly travels to Brisbane from the Northern Territory for medical treatment with his dad, who described Walsh's gesture as "wonderful and unexpected".
Walsh began his first-grade NRL career with the Warriors, before being granted an early release from his contract to return to the Broncos, where he rose through the ranks as a development player.
