English cricket legend and former Top Gear presenter Andrew "Freddie" Flintoff has been photographed in public for the first time since he crashed a car during filming for the motoring show.
The full extent of his facial injuries was evident as Flintoff sat next to England cricket captain Ben Stokes during the one-day international between New Zealand and the Black Caps.
The former England captain,45, was involved in a crash at Dunsford Park Aerodrome in the UK in December last year. The open-top car he was driving flipped over and Flintoff was rushed to hospital.
"Freddie (Flintoff) was injured in an accident at the Top Gear test track this morning - with crew medics attending the scene immediately," a BBC spokesperson told Sky News in December.
"He has been taken to hospital for further treatment and we will confirm more details in due course."
Flintoff had a hugely successful international career, playing 79 tests and 141 one-day internationals for England, establishing himself as one of the great allrounders.
He was a key player for England when they won the Ashes in the now classic test series in 2005.
The all rounder scored over 400 runs and took 24 wickets in what is considered to be one fo the best Ashes ever.
After retiring from cricket in 2010, he transitioned to a career in television, becoming a host on Top Gear and Australian Ninja Warrior.
It is believed Flintoff is now eyeing up a return to coaching and has been working with the England under-19 side, before spending time with the senior team at the one day on Friday.
Flintoff suffered broken ribs and multiple lacerations to his face in the crash, and the facial injuries were visible on Friday. His nose still has some minor bandaging almost 10 months after the crash.
Flintoff wasn't a lucky charm for the England team, who lost by eight wickets to a resurgent Black Caps.
