The Blackcaps have gone two from two in their preparations for this month's Cricket World Cup in India, defeating South Africa by seven runs in a rain shortened affair in Thiruvananthapuram.
Two days on from an emphatic five-wicket win over Pakistan, the Blackcaps posted 321/6 batting first, anchored by half-centuries to Devon Conway (78 retired) and Tom Latham (52).
In reply, South Africa were 211/4 from 37 overs, before rain brought a premature end to proceedings, seeing New Zealand take the victory courtesy of the Duckworth-Lewis method.
Conway's knock at the top of the order was timely, after the opener made a golden duck in the win over Pakistan, with his place opening the batting for the Blackcaps never in doubt.
Kane Williamson also spent more valuable time at the crease with 37 runs from 51 balls on his way back from a knee injury.
The Blackcaps captain also made a half-century for retiring against Pakistan, but will play no part in the World Cup opener against England on Thursday night (NZ time).
Latham also added a valuable 52 from 56 balls, with four boundaries and one six, and combined with Glenn Phillip (43 from 40 balls) in the middle order.
With the ball, Trent Boult struck with his third ball to remove Reeza Hendricks for a golden duck, returning figures of 2/20 from his five overs.
Spinners Mitchell Santner (1/29) and Ish Sodhi (1/35) took one wicket apiece, while South African wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock anchored the chase with an unbeaten 84 before rain arrived.
