Penrith Panthers coach Ivan Cleary was clearly worse for wear the day after his side's miraculous victory over Brisbane Broncos, celebrating until the early hours of Monday morning.
On Sunday, the Panthers rallied from 8-24 down, as halfback Nathan Cleary - son of the coach - put in one of the all-time great Grand Final performances to secure the trophy.
The victory represents Penrith's third successive premiership, all won by coach Cleary.
And appearing on Channel Nine's Today, a visibly tired Cleary fronted cameras, clearly off the back of a big night of celebrations.
"I'm not sure how to answer that," Cleary joked when asked if he'd had 1000 drinks. "I'm going to try and have an hour's sleep, then we'll kick into tomorrow.
"Good times, and I'm going to lap up every minute of it."
Jokes aside, though, Cleary made no secret of his pride at having become the first side in four decades to win three successive NRL titles.
"I couldn't be better, honestly," Cleary said. "I'm feeling pretty good about life.
"It was an incredible game, I still can't believe we actually won the game. Our community is everything to us.
"The look on everyone's faces, how happy it made everyone feel, I just can't explain how good that makes us feel."
