NZ Breakers have arrested their four-game skid with an impressive 91-81 win over Cairns Taipans at Christchurch.
The Breakers traded blows with the Taipans, until import Anthony Lamb caught fire from beyond the arc, splashing a trio of consecutive three-pointers to close the third quarter and give the hosts a lead they never relinquished.
The former Golden State Warrior forward finished with a team-high 19 points on 7/12 shooting, while the Breakers enjoyed plenty of contribution across the board in a well-rounded team display.
Overall, they shot a superb 52 percent from the field at Wolfbrook Arena, along with 41 percent from three-point range, on a hot night for the Breakers shooters.
Guard Izayah Le'afa started ahead of Australian Boomers representative Will McDowell-White and produced his best game of the season, with 14 points on 4/8 three-point shooting, along with four assists.
McDowell-White had plenty of impact off the bench, scoring 14 points (6/10), with four boards and three assists.
American import Parker Jackson-Cartwright added 13 points and seven assists, helping drive the Breakers run through the final stanza.
"It's fairly satisfying," said Breakers coach Mody Maor. "You could see there was a level of connectedness, the way they played.
"They created for each other. It's a very good step for us."
The eighth-placed Breakers will try to keep the ball rolling against Sydney Kings on Sunday.
