The money is already streaming in from punters, as they place their bets for the Melbourne Cup.
Firm favourite Vauban, an Irish stayer, is tipped to win the race, after winning its last two races in impressive fashion.
Sitting at $4.20 on the TAB, managing director Cameron Rodger tells AM some of his best customers are eyeing up another horse too.
"Vauban the favourite and then a bit of a dabble going on for Ashrun as well, at $31, so those are the two they are looking at," said Rodger.
Gold Trip is at the top of the ladder as a fan favourite, with Kiwi jockey James Macdonald on last year's winner.
Paying $8 to win, Gold Trip is third among the favourites and Rodger feels he shouldn't be underestimated, despite only five horses winning the Melbourne Cup twice.
"J-Mac is in form, a good Kiwi boy as well, so I think it's hard to go past at the price."
Hamilton-based breeder Brent Gillovic will watch Daqionsweet Junior with great interest, considering it's one of his own.
Gillovic is a champion in his own right, after breeding 1991 Melbourne Cupwinner Lets Elope.
Daqionsweet Junior is considered a rank outside chance, paying $81 for a win, but the man that bred him believes it has a good chance of running top 10.
"I think he's a real good chance to do that, he ran six last year and he came from a mile back," said Gillovic.
"He drops a kilo and a half, he's got to carry less and his barrier draw is a bit better.
"He's probably a good chance to run in the first 10, but I couldn't see him run any better than the first four or five."
