Kia ora, good afternoon and welcome to live coverage of the third day's play of the first test between Bangladesh and the Blackcaps, from Sylhet International Stadium.
After the first two days of their new World Test Championship cycle, the Blackcaps and Bangladesh are evenly poised.
At 266/8 in the first innings, the Blackcaps are 44 runs adrift of their hosts, and will want to narrow that gap to as little as possible, if not sneak ahead, with their last three batters.
Captain Tim Southee and Kyle Jamieson will return to the crease, up against Bangladesh's array of spinners.
The bulk of New Zealand's total is down to Kane Williamson, who scored a masterful 104 on day two, continuing his incredible form since standing down from the test captaincy nigh on a year ago.
Williamson now has 29 test hundreds, including four in his last four tests – a New Zealand record.
However, Williamson's heroics haven't guaranteed a position of strength for the Blackcaps.
The hosts will be confident of securing a first innings lead, which they can increase with a solid performance at the second time of asking.
Unless the Blackcaps' spinners can replicate their counterparts' success, New Zealand could be looking at a tricky fourth innings chase over the coming days.
TAB odds: New Zealand $1.92, Bangladesh $1.92, draw $17.50
