The Blues have bolstered their 2024 coaching ranks, adding former All Blacks scrum coach Greg Feek to their staff.
Feek, 48, links with the Auckland-based Super Rugby Pacific outfit, after finishing up with the All Blacks at this year's World Cup in France, serving as part of coach Ian Foster's support group since 2020.
The former All Blacks prop has also enjoyed a successful tenure with Ireland, where he worked under Joe Schmidt from 2014-19. His addition is another boost to the Blues, as part of the club's new coaching structure under incoming coach Vern Cotter.
As NZ Rugby enters a rebuilding phase, after the 2023 World Cup cycle, Feek looks forward to molding the Blues players, as they push for a first Super Rugby title since 2003.
"Obviously, there's been a bit of movement in Super Rugby coaching circles after the World Cup, so when the opportunity at the Blues came up, I jumped at the chance," he said. "From what I've seen and heard, this is a Blues side who want to win a championship.
"As a coach, it's great to have a hungry group of athletes, who are willing to work towards that common goal. I'm looking forward to getting stuck in with the team and feel grateful to be involved with the club."
The Blues are about to return to pre-season training, in preparation for their season-opener against Fijian Drua on February 24.
