The Crusaders have pulled off what they believe is a coup, signing experienced Welsh fullback Leigh Halfpenny for next year's Super Rugby Pacific season.
After more than 100 tests, Halfpenny retired from international rugby at the weekend, as Wales' third-highest pointscorer.
Now 34,he's made the rare decision to move to New Zealand.
Wales' 49-26 win over the Barbarians at Cardiff was a farewell for Halfpenny and an emotional end to his international career, but he's confirmed a new beginning, with his move to the champion Crusaders.
"It means a lot to be joining the Crusaders," he said. "It's a team I've followed from a young age and grown up watching."
Almost fitting then that Halfpenny's last match for Wales was played against a Barbarians side coached by seven-time Crusaders champion Scott Robertson, who was asked about a possible move afterwards.
"I don't know Lee personally, but yeah, it would be a good match," he said.
Said Halfpenny: "Yeah, I had a good chat with him and he was excited for me to be coming over."
Arguably with his best rugby behind him, some could wonder why the Crusaders want him now?
"The thing I love about this place is all the stories you hear about the older players passing on something to the next generation," said Crusaders chief executive Colin Mansbridge.
While he's played most of his rugby at fullback, with Richie Mo'unga gone and Fergus Bourke out for the start of season with an Achilles injury, Halfpenny could see a change in position.
"To play 10 and challenge myself there would be exciting as well," he admitted.
Wherever he slots in, with 101 test caps and 801 international points, he'll have plenty to offer.
