Kia ora, good afternoon and welcome to Newshub's live coverage of the Blackcaps v Bangladesh second test at Mirpur Stadium, Dhaka.
After losing the entire second day and then the morning of the third to rain, and teetering at 55/5, still 117 runs behind in the first innings, New Zealand have crawled back to comparative parity with their hosts, entering the fourth day.
In just his third test, Glenn Phillips showed rare stickability (compared to those around him) for his 87 runs, giving the visitors a lead that seemed very unlikely at the start of play.
Bad light forced an early end to the third day, with Bangladesh just 30 runs ahead and already two wickets down, most notably skipper and first-test centurion Najmul Hossain Shanto.
The Dhaka pitch is notorious for its deterioration as the match continues, so the Blackcaps will need to skittle their rivals cheaply and find some batting resolve, if they are to win and level a series that marks the beginning of their new World Test Championship cycle.
