Black Ferns Sevens have booked their spot in the final four of the Dubai Sevens with a 23-14 win against Brazil in their quarter-final on Sunday.
The result means New Zealand remain undefeated in their title defence. They'll face Canada in the first semi-final.
The defending champions were without captain Sarah Hirini, who limped off the field during the pool match against Great Britain on Saturday. The severity of her knee injury is yet to be determined.
After Brazil opened the try scoring in the second minute, Portia Woodman-Wickliffe found acres of space on the right flank and outpaced the cover defence to put New Zealand in front.
Tenika Willison's heads-up play to pounce on Brazil's sloppy scrum ball saw the Kiwis extend their advantage to 12-7 heading into halftime.
Mahina Paul broke free from 50m to run in the Ferns' third try, before Gabriela Lima showed her electric pace to pull Brazil back into the contest with time winding down.
But Kelly Brazier put the finishing touch on the contest, cashing in on Alena Saili's powerful run to stroll over untouched.
