The under-strength Blackcaps have been crushed by Pakistan in their second Twenty20 international, falling to a seven-wicket defeat in Rawalpindi on Sunday (NZ time).
Asked to bat first, New Zealand limped through to the meagre total of 90 in a shade over 18 overs, before the hosts cruised to their target with eight overs to spare, finishing at 92/3.
The result means Pakistan take a 1-0 lead in the five-match series, after the opening match was washed out.
Mark Chapman's knock of 19 off 16 balls was the best an NZ individual could muster, one of just four batters in double figures. Only 10 boundaries total were scored by the Blackcaps.
Quick Shaheen Shah Afridi was the chief destroyer, snaring 3/13 off just 3.1 overs.
Ben Lister struck in the opening over for one of New Zealand's three wickets, with captain Michael Bracewell nabbing Babar Azam stumped and Ish Sodhi skittling Usman Khan.
Mohammad Rizwan guided the way for Pakistan, top scoring with an undefeated 45 off 34 balls.
The Blackcaps are missing a raft of first-choice players on the tour, mostly due to Indian Premier League commitments.
The teams remain in Rawalapindi for the third match, which is scheduled for Monday morning.
New Zealand 90 off 18.1 overs (Chapman 19, McConchie 15; Shaheen Shah Afridi 3/13) Pakistan 92/3 off 12.1 overs (Mohammad Rizwan 45, Lister 1/10)
