Just days out from the biggest golf tournament of the year, Ryan Fox admits he's currently in the midst of a form slump.
The world No.54 is currently preparing for his second appearance at the US Masters on Friday, after finishing tied for 26th at the event last year.
After a breakout 2023 that saw him land a full membership on America's PGA Tour, 2024 hasn't been as fruitful.
In seven events on the PGA Tour, he has made the cut just four times, with a tie for 35th at the Cognizant Classic in Florida his best performance of the season so far.
"There's been some pretty up-and-down golf over the last few months," he said. "There's definitely been some patches of good, where I've felt that form of Wentworth, and there's been some atrocious stuff as well."
Despite his honest confession, Fox isn't far removed from his greatest successes.
Three weeks ago, he became just the 14th player to record a hole-in-one on 17th hole at The Players Championship. He also won the BMW PGA Championship last September, beating out a star-studded field that included current Masters champion Jon Rahm.
"Coming into the Masters last year, I was definitely in a better run of form, but I can't think of a better place to find some form than here and there is no better place to enjoy yourself as a golfer than out here, so that's going to be the goal here - go out and enjoy that, and hopefully that translates into some good golf," said Fox.
"I've proven to myself enough times over the last couple of years that my good golf is definitely enough to compete with the best in the world."
The US Masters is the place where the best in the world come to compete. The field will again include Tiger Woods, who will make a record 26th appearance at the prestigious tournament.
Despite his 950th world ranking, the five-time champion will be one of the fan favourites at the event.
