Lydia Ko has finished in a tie for 17th at the Chevron Championship in Texas, after shooting three-over in her final round of the year’s first major.
World No 1 Nelly Korda won the event to continue her terrific run of form. The American has now won the last five LGPA events, the first to do so since Annika Sörenstam in 2005.
"I can finally breathe now," Korda said after the victory. "That back nine felt like the longest back nine of my entire life. It was a little bit of a grind on the back nine, but happy to get the win."
Ko began the day six shots back from leader Ryu Hae-ran at five-under, but shot three-over to card a final score of two-under alongside five other players in a tie for 17th, and 11 shots behind eventual winner Korda at 13-under.
Ko's seven bogeys on day four dropped her right out of contention, although the Kiwi World No 8 did manage an eagle on the par-five eighth, as well as birdies on the par-five 13th and par-five 18th.
It’s a disappointing result for Ko who was once sitting in a tie for fourth.
The former World No 1 is still looking to win her first major since 2015, while she also needs one more tour title to automatically qualify for the LPGA Hall of Fame.
Her next chance to win a major will come at the U.S. Women's Open in May.
