Kia ora and welcome to Newshub's live coverage of the Blackcaps' T20 World Cup opener against Afghanistan in Guyana.

New Zealand will finally get their campaign underway, facing an Afghan side they've met just once prior in the T20 format back at the 2021 edition of this World Cup, when they recorded a comfortable win to book their place in the semi-finals.

We'll have all of the action from 11:30am (NZ time).
