Tall Black Finn Delany will depart the New Zealand Breakers one season into a two-year NBL deal.
On Sunday, the Breakers said it had mutually agreed to release Delany from his contract, freeing the 28-year-old to pursue opportunities overseas.
"We thank him for his immense contribution across two spells at the club, and he will have a warm Spark Arena welcome when he returns," the Breakers said.
Delany played eight seasons at the Breakers across two stints, with his most productive season coming in 2021, when he was named in the All-NBL Second Team, having averaged of 16.2 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists across that campaign.
Nelson-born Delany joined the Breakers in 2015 as a development player, slowly becoming a key figure before departing for German club Telekom Baskets in 2022.
He returned to the Breakers but suffered a calf injury in the first half of the campaign which left him sidelined for seven weeks.
"I will miss the energy in Spark Arena and playing for a home crowd. I'm so grateful for the club and all those I worked with at the Breakers," Delany added.
