Funding for road ambulance service providers has increased 32 percent over the past two years.
St John says even though it’s not winter lecturers of paramedicine are getting daily call-up to come in and help.
It comes as St John speak out about staffing pressures, with 100 staff now off work due to COVID-19.
"There are big concerns about the state of the service, staff are already reporting that they're burnt out and this is before Omicron has even hit."
Public also urged to only use 111 in emergency.
The charity has been struggling through the pandemic.
