Construction is underway on a new skyscraper right in the middle of New York's Manhattan that will set a new record as the tallest residential tower in the world.
The Central Park Tower will stand 472m tall - which will mean it's around seven storeys taller than the iconic Empire State Building.
The new building is being constructed on one of the city's most prestigious corridors - West 57th Street, or 'Billionaires' Row'.
New York's tallest buildings:
- One World Trade - 546m
- The planned Central Park Tower - 472m
- Empire State Building - 443m
Gary Barnett, president of the Extell Development Company which is overseeing the construction, reckons Central Park Tower brings with it a "new level of design and quality".
''Over a decade of planning and collaboration with the world's most talented architects, engineers and designers has resulted in Manhattan's newest iconic structure," he says.
"This building will stand out in New York City history as the singular residential offering that redefined luxury living."
World's tallest residential towers:
- 432 Park Avenue, New York - 425m
- Princess Tower, Dubai - 414m
- 23 Marina, Dubai - 392 m
- Elite residence, Dubai - 381m
- Marina Torch, Dubai - 348m
Some of the key selling points of the tower's design include its panoramic views of the city and grand, open living spaces.
As well as residential properties, plans also state that the building will house one of the world's most exclusive clubs, the Central Park Club.
Spread across three floors, the club will house the likes of a pool, bar, screening room and gym.
A seven-story flagship store for Nordstrom NYC would also sit at the base of the tower.
