Auckland's Hotel Grand Windsor has been named the Best New Hotel in the world.
The accommodation also won the titles of Australiasia's Most Inspired Hotel Design, and Best New Hotel in Australasia at the Boutique Hotel Awards in London overnight.
The Queen St MGallery by Sofitel hotel beat other finalists from Finland, India, El Salvador, Botswana and Thailand.
The Boutique Hotel Award winners are nominated and chosen by travel industry experts and travel journalists. More than 300 hotels entered this year's competition.
The judges' comments highlighted the attention to detail in the design of Hotel Grand Windsor
"The design was beautiful, elegant, understated and calming," they said.
"It felt a world away from the hustle and bustle of the central city; it was amazing how you could just step away from it."
The hotel, located in a 1920s Art Deco-style building, was transformed from a three-star to a five-star in just 12 months.
