Airbnb has launched a premium Airbnb Plus platform, offering a new tier of homes that have been personally inspected and verified for their level of quality and comfort.
The service has launched with 50 homes in the Auckland region, ranging from inner-city apartments to luxury beach houses.
Airbnb Plus homes are inspected and verified in person against a checklist including cleanliness, comfort and design. Homeowners listing with the plus version will also benefit from higher placement on the accommodation website and app.
The number of New Zealanders using Airbnb has risen 77 percent in the last year, as well as a 71 percent increase in the number of tourists to Aotearoa using the service.
