The winner of a nationwide competition to find the best bach in the country has been named - and not only is it popular, it's cheap too.
Fox Cottage in Taranaki won the competition being run by accomodation website Bookabach.co.nz.
The judges of the competition said Fox Cottage ticked all the boxes of what makes a typical Kiwi bach.
"The property has a fantastic history after being built in 1910 for the local post master, and the owners have managed to retain little snippets of the bach's past throughout the house - a really unique quality," said judge Goran Paladin.
The bach also came second in the hospitality category following a string of glowing feedback from its guests.
