Air New Zealand has been named the eighth best airline in the world for 2019 by TripAdvisor.
The national airline of Aotearoa won a total of six honours in the latest annual Travelers' Choice Awards, including the title of Best Airline in the Pacific.

Singapore Airlines was named the world's best airline overall, while Air NZ dropped to eighth from second place last year.
Air NZ's strong premium economy product was a key part of its appeal with judges - that was voted the best of its type in the world. The airline was also voted as having the best business and economy class in the South Pacific and Oceania.
Airlines from the Asia Pacific region dominated the top ten, with Singapore Airlines, EVA Air, Japan Airlines, Air NZ and ANA all making the list.
TripAdvisor's top 10 Airlines in the World for 2019:

- Qatar Airways
- EVA Air
- Emirates
- Japan Airlines (JAL)
- Southwest Airlines
- Azul
- Air New Zealand
- Jet2.com
- ANA (All Nippon Airways)
The airlines making the top 10 remained almost unchanged from 2018, although Korean Air dropped out and ANA took its place. Air NZ dropped six places from second last year.

Best Business Class: Qatar Airways
Best Premium Economy: Air New Zealand
Best Economy: Singapore Airlines
TripAdvisor used an algorithm that calculated the quality and quantity of reviews submitted to the website.
Air NZ announced last week it was working on a new business and economy class to be introduced at a later date.
