For flight attendants, one of the hardest things to achieve is getting everyone to watch the pre-flight safety video. Now, they can simply use the force.
United Airlines has released its new Star Wars-themed in-flight safety video to celebrate the release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker – the epic conclusion of the Skywalker saga due in cinemas in December.
The American-based airline is a member of the Star Alliance, which has no connection to the Rebel Alliance.
United Airlines are no wookiees when it comes to cashing in on a marketing opportunity. The special safety video is just the beginning of a series of Star Wars promotions taking place in the air.
A specially painted Star Wars Boeing 737-800 will take to the skies shortly, as will new Star Wars-themed amenity kits.
"We are thrilled to join forces and help promote the concluding chapter of the Skywalker story, while at the same time enlisting help from our new friends from the Star Wars universe to demonstrate the importance of safety for our customers and colleagues," said Mark Krolick, United's vice president of marketing.
From November, passengers will also be welcomed onboard by the iconic theme music from the trilogy.
