World's airlines ranked by on-time performance

Travel company Cirium has ranked the world's airlines based on their punctuality and Russia's Aeroflot has been named as the world’s most on-time airline.

Cirium, which describes itself as "the leader in air travel data and analytics", analysed 2019's on-time performance of airlines and created a list of the most prompt airlines by on-time performance (OTP). 

While Aeroflot topped the global rankings with 86.68 percent of its flights on time, Japanese airline All Nippon Airways (ANA) came in second place with 86.3 percent.

Last year's winner, Delta Air Lines of the US, took third place in the global category.

The review categorises the airlines by Global, Asia Pacific, Europe, North America, Latin America, Middle East and Africa.

Air New Zealand came in at sixth place internationally and fifth in the Asia -Pacific. 

Europe's top three airlines were Aeroflot, S7 Airlines and Iberia, while the Asia Pacific's were ANA, Singapore Airlines and Thai AirAsia.

The most on-time global network airline was LATAM Airlines, while the most on-time low-cost carrier was Japan's StarFlyer. 

The world's most on-time airport was Moscow's Sheremetyevo International Airport.
