Just weeks after Auckland farewelled its historic six-storey-high Santa Claus a new, much smaller man in red has popped up in the big city.
This Santa doesn't have a beckoning finger or a winking eye, but he is showing off perhaps a little too much skin.
In keeping with the theme of 2020, the new Ponsonby Santa is celebrating keeping things local - he's got a cocktail in one hand and a yoga mat in the other in celebration of the eclectic Auckland suburb.
Strutting his stuff with spray-on abs, the jolly man is also carrying shopping bags from a selection of local Ponsonby retailers.
Auckland's iconic Santa Claus from Farmers on Queen Street made his way to Wanaka by road earlier this month.
He was transported 1500km to his new home by truck, rather than sleigh.
The Ponsonby Business Association says the local Santa will be available for photos from December 5 when the suburb has its Christmas market day.
