Flights were still operating all over the globe and the planes landing in Auckland were packed with tourists and Kiwis alike.
Looking back at the schedule for Auckland Airport as it was then feels like a world away - there were daily flights being operated by airlines we are unlikely to see in our skies again. There were direct flights to places that we are no longer connected to.
