Qatar Airways has announced a raft of sale flights for Kiwi customers keen to get out of New Zealand as borders reopen over the next year.
The sale includes return airfares from Auckland to destinations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa for less than $2000 per person, the cheapest being Dubai for $1479.
The fares went on sale on Tuesday and are available to purchase for six days, offering travel dates between now until the end of August, 2022.
The airline's guaranteed COVID-19 flexibility policy will apply to travel booked up until 31 May, 2022. That allows passengers to change the date and destinations on their bookings multiple times and not pay extra fees, so long as they're not upgrading to a higher class ticket.
Full refunds are also available through the COVID-19 flexibility policy.
But any travel booked from June 1, 2022 onward is subject to normal fare rules, so tickets will be non-transferable and change fees will have to be paid on top of fare differences, should a customer's travel plans change.
Potential travellers should also keep in mind the MIQ shortage, which means it may be easy to fly out of New Zealand but will likely be extremely difficult to get back in until at least after Christmas.
The sale also includes a special offer for people joining Privilege Club, the airline's frequent flier programme, and bonus Qpoints.
