Three of the largest airlines to operate flights in and out of Fiji have released sale airfares on the day the island nation announced its reopening amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Fiji's Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama announced on Monday the borders would reopen to fully vaccinated international travellers from December 1.
Fiji Airways has announced flights will officially resume for fully vaccinated Kiwis, with the first commercial flight from New Zealand to Fiji since March, 2020 scheduled to depart Auckland on the same day the borders reopen.
As well as being fully vaccinated, travellers wanting to get into Fiji must be coming from a 'Travel Partner' country and must have a negative PCR test taken 72-hours prior to departure.
Fiji Airways plans to launch daily flights from Auckland to Fiji using its new Airbus A350-900 aircraft, with three flights per week from Christchurch on its Boeing 737 MAX, and two flights per week from Wellington, also using the MAX aircraft.
Jetstar and Qantas have also confirmed direct flights from Sydney to Fiji will take off from mid-December, and are offering package deals to Aussie customers.
Jetstar will operate five flights per week from December 17, and Qantas will operate four per week from December 19.
Returning Australians may be required to home quarantine for up to seven days on arrival into New South Wales, in accordance with the requirements from the Australian authorities.
Fiji Airways is offering package holiday deals with some rates up to 45 percent lower than pre-COVID-19 prices.
All prices include return flights out of NZ, accommodation, meals, and transfers.
