If predictions are correct, Kiwis could be travelling to Australia and the Pacific from early next year as borders reopen after closing during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Jetstar has front-footed the rush for tickets by releasing over 85,000 sale airfares across Aotearoa and the Tasman for early 2022 travel dates.
Domestic fares are going for as low as $25 in the sale while fares to Australia start at $129 one-way.
The announcement follows speculation that Kiwis could miss out on cheap airfares if international borders remained closed for too long.
The four-day sale begins at midnight Tuesday morning, however Club Jetstar members have had early access to the fares from midday Monday.
All passengers aged 12 years and older on Jetstar international flights will be required to be fully vaccinated with a TGA-approved or recognised vaccine, unless they have an exemption.
Travel periods vary depending on the route but include early February to mid-April, 2022 and early May to early July, 2022.
The discounted fares include:
- Auckland to Christchurch from $25
- Auckland to Dunedin from $39
- Auckland to Wellington from $25
